Norstat was established in 1997 on the 1st of January by the founders Torje Rørvik, Hans Peter Wøien and John Lauring Pedersen,
who are all still with the company. Since then, the company has experienced a tremendous growth, mainly organic, but also
through acquisitions. The most important milestones are as follows:
- 1997: Norstat is established at Lillehammer, Norway
- 2000: STP OY is established in Finland
- 2001: Norstat Sweden AB is established in Karlstad
- 2002: DNG Quest AB is acquired and merged into Norstat Sweden
- 2003: I & A Research A/S in Denmark is acquired
- 2005: IPO at Oslo Stock Exchange through holding company Media & Research Group ASA
- 2006: Acquisition of Scandinfo’s field department in Gothenburg
- 2007: Norstat is seperated from MRG ASA, and listed at the Oslo Stock Exchange. The company is bought by Altaria AS later
same year. The company is established in Estonia.
- 2008: Norstat is delisted from the Oslo Stock Exchange. The company is established in Latvia and Lithuania.
- 2009: Norstat is established in Poland
